Last night, the NYU community took over the Central Park Wollman Rink for the fifth installment of Flurry, an event put on by the Inter-Residence Hall Council. With over 1600 students attending, the event proved that there is some type of community here at NYU.
This year’s Flurry included free ice skating, candy, five (count ‘em: FIVE) Housie Maguire-shaped cakes, “J-Sexy and I Know It” t-shirts (with proceeds going to the American Red Cross) and other types of NYU love. With the success of this event and the celebration of its 5th year anniversary, we decided to go behind the scenes and see what really goes down at Flurry.
Flurry proves that NYU can bring students together by giving them free stuff. Even if the event is a bit cheesy, we love these classic NYC experiences – like ice skating at night. At the end of the day, who doesn’t love a little bit of NYU swag and some winter wonderland adventures?
